Atlas Wins Regular Season Crown - November 3rd Winner Takes All!

An Incredible Regular Season Comes to An End

As someone who has watched HS Fall Ball for the last 10 years, I can honestly say that the 2019 version of the League is by far the most competitive, exciting and closely matched season ever.  Week 5 was no exception.  Read the summaries below.  Congratulations to Atlas for winning the regular-season title and first seed in the playoffs, which take place on November 3rd.

Playoffs with encompass a Consolation game at 5PM, and then two semifinal games at 6PM and 7PM.  The Championship Game will start at 8PM.  Each playoff game will be the formal 1-hour running time format we have used in all our games.

The All Star game will take place on Sunday, November 10th.  Rosters will be announced after the Playoffs.  The All-Star game will be a full stop time game (4 quarters of 15 minutes each) per NFHS rules.

ARCHERS 7 REDWOODS 5

The opener of the night was a very competitive game.  Starting slow, no goals were scored for the first 7 minutes of the game.  Tripp Crissman (2G) scored the first of his two goals to open the scoring for the Archers.  But the Redwoods stormed back quickly,  and their power players Jack Galbraith (2G) and Danny Beglin (2G) put them ahead 3-1 with less than 5 minutes left in the half.  But two quick goals by Malone Loman (3G) and Matt Rudella tied things at the half.  Starting the second half, the Archers put 4 straight goals in the net by Loman, Crissman and Marshall Spurlock (1G) to secure the win.

CHAOS 10 ATLAS 8

In what was probably the most competitive and hard-fought game of the season, Chaos managed to squeak out a 10-8 victory over Atlas.   Outstanding play from a number of very talented players made the game a joy to watch.  The teams traded goals evenly as the first half ended 6-6.  Atlas had 2 goals each from Chris Wilk, Dpole Luke Kaltsas, and Landon Zaropolus.  For Chaos, Quinton Dwight had 3 goals, Evan Keiser put 1 in the net (2G Overall), and Quinn Mount and Evan Wong had 1 goal each.  In the second half, Atlas jumped out to an 8-7 lead with goals by Eliot Wilk and Corin Bell.  Evan Kiesier and Nate Holley responded to ties thing at 8-8 midway through the half.  The last 13 minutes showcased outstanding defense and amazing goaltending.  Goalies Owen Potts for Atlas and Fredo Rico-Torres for Chaos turned away many tough shots.  In the last five minutes, though, Nate Holley and Quinton Mount sealed the game for Chaos with two goals to make the final 10-8.

CHROME 10 WHIPSNAKES 3

The Chrome and Whipsnakes finished things off with a well played game, with Chrome prevailing 10-3. Chrome's and the league's points  leader John Cantanzarita had 5 goals for the night, and Trevor Douglas had 3.  For the Whipsnakes, Baiiey Lunn, Nick Lagan and Andy Sulyma put goels in the net.
